Artist Showcase: Skier + Writer Drew Petersen

What’s the best way to open up Corbet’s Couloir, arguably the ultra-classic in Jackson Hole, Wyoming? Well, sending it full speed off the point, of course. –Drew Petersen. Photo: John Bowers

Ripping skins in the Wasatch backcountry of Utah on one of the best days of my winter of 2019, and one of the best days of my life. Learning to move in and respect the mountains has shaped the way I live my life and shaped how I will continue to approach my career and future. –Drew Petersen. Photo: Sam Watson

Skiing into the sunset in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. This canyon is a constant source of inspiration, no matter the season, for me to push my skiing, walk farther and climb up more mountains both literally and figuratively in life. –Drew Petersen. Photo: Sam Watson
Drew Petersen skiing powder at Alta in Utah. –Photo: Sam Watson
Relishing the deepest day of the winter of 2019. This day and blower powder are exactly why I call Alta, Utah, home. Powder skiing itself, and the ethereal experience within, is why I do what I do. –Drew Petersen. Photo: Sam Watson
“A Dream Week in Jackson Hole” highlights what I love most about skiing: powder and having fun. Simply put, that’s what we all love, but I’m proud of this video because it captures just that. –Drew Petersen
Ski the Wild West chronicles my road trip to climb and ski the highest peak in every state of the American West. What began as an idea to see what makes the American West – my home – so wild, became a life-changing and transformative experience through the literal and figurative highs and lows along the way. To create this film I wore a lot of different hats—including skier, producer, and director—which allowed me to have my hands on the entire production process. –Drew Petersen
